Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved the application submission of for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Grant funding through the Wyoming Department of Family Services’ Community Partnership Initiative program.

At their meeting Tuesday, the commission discussed the application with Commissioners’ Assistant Jody Telkamp.

She said the applications presented to the commission were from the Compass Center for Families, who is asking for $24,250 for salaries in Johnson County; the Buffalo Children’s Center, who is requesting $16,000 for rent, utilities, and class supplies; and the Boys and Girls Club, asking for $30,000 for salaries, utilities, supplies, and tuition.

Telkamp gave more details on the application.

The commission voted to approve the applications for those amounts, and will now wait to hear from the state on the amount of funding awarded to the county on behalf of the three entities to then be distributed to them.
