C.A. Evans accidentally shot himself late yesterday afternoon.
He was hunting near the cemetery, and carrying a 38-caliber revolver. He attempted to jump a ditch, and fell on the gun, which discharged. He was shot in the right lung. Mr. Evans is a barber, and lives on North Jefferson Street.
Dr. H.M. Brown is able to be at his office today. He has been ill for the past two days.
Mrs. Charles Stevie of West Fourth Street fell down a cellar stairway yesterday. She fractured her left arm in the shoulder joint.
Paul O’Brien took up his duties as deputy county assessor today.
