Sheridan’s fire department was called to the residence of Victor H. Bales on North Custer Street about 11 o’clock last night.

The fire was easily brought under control with a great deal of damage resulting. The cause of the blaze is unknown. Fireman A.A. Gill sustained a severe cut on the head when he was struck by the heavy nozzle on the hose as it was allowed to fall from the roof of the building.

The Bloom Clothing Company will open its doors at 8 o’clock tomorrow morning for a sale designed to get rid of every article of winter clothing. Values up to $40 are marked down as low as $1.95.

The Cox Art Shop has a new Gollings painting on exhibit. “A Prisoner” depicts a winter scene of a longhorn steer separated from the herd and surrounded by three gray wolves.
