“Shag” Wilson, Sheridan’s city clerk, went to Billings this afternoon to do some shopping. He plans to return tomorrow.
Under Sheriff Dolph Thomas left today for Rawlins, having in his custody a prisoner under sentence to serve a year to 18 months in the penitentiary there.
At an early hour this morning, fire destroyed the old log house built by the late F.F. Newcomer on his ranch near Banner. The contents of the house, and adjacent buildings, were saved. Mr. Newcomer built the house of hewn logs which he brought out of the forest himself. The structure contained five spacious rooms, and at the time of contruction, it was the largest house in that part of the country.
