A Look Back in Time: Sept. 6, 1915

Thrill followed thrill with star riders from five states participating in opening day events of the Sheridan Stampede this afternoon. Miss Lucille Mulhall, the clever horsewoman from Oklahoma, gave a beautiful exhibition of fancy roping, and presented Denver Post, the educated horse.

Roy Jones was arrested at the fairgrounds today for biting the ear of a bucking horse while he was earring the animal down to be saddled. This means of subduing horses isn’t permitted by the state humane society.

Despite the large crowd of people in Sheridan for the Stampede, there is no disorder. Three drunks were the only arrests by police tonight.
