The convict gang is making splendid progress on the Dayton-Mountain road, according to Prof. J.J. Early. He returned Monday night from a fishing trip in the Big Horn mountains in the Tongue river district, coming down the new road Saturday afternoon.

J.J. Marshal, who for several years has been assistant principal of the high school in Lincoln, has been elected principal of the Sheridan High School. He and his family are expected to arrive in Sheridan either the latter part of this month or early in September.

The Cottage Hotel, Sheridan’s first hotel and perhaps the oldest building in the city, is being dismantled today to make room for a new three-story apartment house being built by R.A. Keenan.
