A Look Back in Time: Aug. 26, 1916

Driving a Studebaker “6,” Frank Campbell made the trip from Casper to Sheridan, a distance of 162 miles, today in six hours and 35 minutes. The entire trip was made on high, and taking out time for stops, Mr. Campbell averaged about 25 miles an hour.

Sheridan county commissioners held a special meeting today to create two new election districts to accommodate voters on Badger creek and lower Powder river.

The fire department was called out at 1 o’clock this morning to fight a fire which started near the Heald street bridge. The origin of the fire is unknown. No damage resulted.
