Sheriff Mossberg has received complaints of automobilists speeding through the coal camps, particularly through Carneyville, through which the highway passes on the principal street of the village. State law sets the speed limit at 12 miles an hour through town, and six miles an hour across any street intersection.

A heavy cloud of black smoke obscured the sun in Sheridan at 1 o’clock this afternoon. The smoke is from the forest fire that continues to rage on Black Mountain in the Wolf district of the Big Horn Mountains.

Miss Eva Hand, pastor of the Methodist church in Big Horn, preached her farewell sermon Sunday morning.
