As a result of the efforts of Mrs. L.C. Hornsburger of Lander and Washington, D.C., the Sheridan County Republican Women’s club was organized last night by women gathered at the Young Men’s Republican club meeting.
At a special meeting of the Sheridan county commissioners today, the county clerk was authorized to apply to the state board of charities and reform for a gang of 20 men and a cook from the state penitentiary next year. The plan is to use the men in completing the improvement of the Dayton-Mountain road.
Also at today’s special meeting, commissioners authorized the county clerk to advertise for bids for the abutments of a bridge across Powder river at Arvada. The work is to be done at once.
