The custom of keeping Sheridan stores open one night each month following the railroad payday has been abandoned by an agreement between the merchants and the Retail Clerk’s association of the city. The custom has been in vogue for many years, but there has been a growing sentiment against it among railroad employees.
Ole H. Pointer and wife have transferred a warranty deed for Lot 10, Block 4 in Thurmond’s Second addition, to Harry Maxon for $2,000.
The county is accepting sealed proposals for 25,000 feet, board measure, of Washington fir lumber for use on county bridges. Pieces must be full size and free from knots.
