The Parent-Teachers association is making plans to unveil, on Memorial Day, a monument on which will be imposed relics from the battleship Maine, which was sunk in Havana harbor on Feb. 15, 1898. The site of the memorial will be in Pioneer park. The fund for the monument is being raised by the school children of Sheridan in contributions not exceeding 10 cents from each child.
Five men, four of whom are old offenders, were arrested yesterday by Sheriff Mossberg and Undersheriff U.A.C. Thomas, on a charge of bootlegging. The sheriff’s office has been conducting an investigation covering a period of a month.
Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Williams and F.E. Stone, all of Arvada, are Sheridan visitors today.
