Gillette, a well-known local socialist, went too far this morning along the lines of free speech, denouncing the flag and expressing the hope that the Germans would win the war. He has been turned over to the military authorities at Fort Mackenzie.
Miss Margaret Reid, a high school senior, will leave on Train No. 41 tomorrow for Los Angeles, Calif., where she will enter the Clara Barton Hospital to take a training course in nursing. When she completes the course, she will enter the Red Cross service as a nurse.
Today only, the Orpheum theater is showing a Fannie Ward comedy, “A School for Husbands.” The show features a race track and society setting. Admission is 5 and 15 cents.
