The committee representing the city council for national defense met in the Commercial Club rooms yesterday evening to discuss the registration of women next Tuesday, July 17. The local committees are acting under instructions directly from Washington. Registration is for work service or food conservation and is purely voluntary on the part of the women.
Mr. C.B. Godwin, Mrs. Kate Freeman, Miss Orell Freeman and Miss Louise Enochs picnicked at Piney today.
Mrs. Arthur Schaal entertained six guests at a birthday breakfast in honor of her sister, Marguerite. The color was pink, and decorations included pink sweet peas and candles.
