The E.C. Mattox home at Dietz was entirely destroyed by fire tonight. The family was sleeping out on the porch and was awakened at 2:30 a.m. by the sound of wood cracking. An alarm was immediately turned in to the Dietz Fire Company, but the fire had gone too far on their arrival for anything to be done.
Mrs. Ida Laub, proprietor of the Crescent Hotel, returned today from a three-week automobile trip through the Yellowstone National Park, parts of Montana and Idaho and Salt Lake City before returning to Sheridan. She traveled with her brother-in-law and wife, and Amos Helvey.
Little Bernard Owens, while riding his bicycle today, collided with a wagon and sustained severe injuries to his face and left jaw.
