Edward Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Martin of Sheridan, has been appointed battalion agent in the 145th Field Artillery, Battery B.
Walter Scott filed his petition this morning for the position of mayor of Sheridan. Instead of the 25 names required by law to validate such a petition, Mr. Scott had 50 names attached to his document.
The U.S. government inspector has set Oct. 3 as the date he will be in Sheridan to inspect horses for army purposes.
