Last night and this morning, according to those who are supposed to be in touch with the situation, there was a danger of a strike at the mines near Sheridan. But this afternoon, it appears that the men and the operators will be able to get together, and there will be no strike.

Sen. Kendrick of Wyoming and Sen. Kenyon of Iowa arrived on a tour of the military zone in France. The two took dinner with General Pershing and his staff, and inspected some of the troops.

The meeting of the Loyalty League in the Elks’ Home last night gave fresh evidence of the Sheridan spirit of patriotism. Headed by the Sheridan band, who wore caps with carbide lights, members of the League marched to the Elks Home at 8 o’clock.
