A Look Back in Time: Feb. 11, 1918

D.F. Harrison, general manager and geologist of the Sheridan-Wyoming Oil Company, has arrived in Sheridan with news that the company struck oil on their lease at Maverick Springs, at a depth of 610 feet. The company, which is composed almost entirely of Sheridan men, started to drill on Jan. 14, and the first oil sands were struck at a depth of 50 feet about two weeks ago.

G.W. Robinson of Arvada is in Sheridan for a few days.

G.M. Schott is in Sheridan from his home at Acme.

A jar of mustard is 19 cents and a box of crackers 29 cents at the Basket Store.
