The urgent call for Red Cross workers in the gauze room has had a splendid result. More women have tendered their services than can be handled. Last Saturday, there were 85 women working in the gauze room at the city hall, and 20 had to be sent over to the Federal building.
Thomas Salverson made the trip on horseback from his ranch on Tongue River to Sheridan despite the fact that there were six inches of snow on the divide. He took two days to make the journey, but arrived without mishap.
One pound of bulk cocoa is 24 cents at the Basket Store. Large cans of tomatoes are 16 cents, and veal loaf is 18 cents.
