George Bezda is in the hospital in Sheridan as a result of a shooting scrape at Acme about 5:30 last night. The checkweighman at the mine is accused of firing a shot from a .22 automatic after accusing Bezda of stealing a watch chain.

The war garden campaign waged in the schools last week has secured an enrollment of 177. This is larger by far than last year’s enrollment, and is a very encouraging sign.

“Shorty” McDonald is in camp at Jacksonville, Fla., and appears well pleased with army life, judging by a letter received from him by the Sheridan Enterprise.
