Fifty-five Sheridan men and two from other boards entrained today for Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. Sheridan gave the men one of the greatest demonstrations yet given to departing soldiers.
Nearly $7,800 was subscribed to the Red Cross within a few minutes at the Loyalty League luncheon in the basement of the Congregational church in Sheridan this afternoon. It was the first public response to the Red Cross campaign that will open formally tomorrow morning in Sheridan County.
Verner Z. Reed, Denver capitalist and owner of the Home Ranch south of Sheridan, has arrived in Sheridan accompanied by his secretary.
