A street roller broke a gas main on Sumner street shortly before 2 o’clock this afternoon, necessitating that the Sheridan Gas Company shut off the gas over the city. Sheridan was without gas for more than an hour.

Sheridan experienced the hottest weather ever recorded this early in June at 2:30 this afternoon when the mercury hit 97 ½ degrees.

Roy Seney left today on No. 42 for a business trip to Washington D.C. John H. Rice arrived in the city today from Casper.

Ranchers on Big Goose about eight miles up from Sheridan report that the river is the highest that it’s been in the last 10 years, and poorly constructed bridges are being washed out.
