Fraud charges have been filed against a former United States court commissioner in Sheridan. Two lawsuits allege that A.L. Mason kept money and proof filed by homesteaders that should have been forwarded to local land offices.

Although the state board of health has granted permission for the ban on public meeting places to be lifted in Sheridan next Monday, the local school board has decided that schools in Sheridan will not be opened that day.

A coal miner employed at Model died there yesterday afternoon from pneumonia that followed influenza. His was the only death reported in Sheridan county in the day ending at noon today, but seven new cases were reported to County Health Officer Hurd yesterday.
