Ernest Mitchell, formerly a switchman in the employ of Burlington, has brought suit against the company in district court, asking $30,000 in damages from alleged personal injuries growing out of a collision at Gillette on the night of Sept. 14-15.

The usual practice of disposing of turkeys through raffles is strongly condemned by the food administration. In a letter to county attorneys, Theodore Diers, state food administrator, cited a shortage of turkeys and a need for meat for the war sufferers overseas, as well as the danger posed to crowds by the influenza epidemic.
