Although all 11 applicants for 1919 liquor licenses have paid, or will pay, the $1,300 necessary for the licenses, City Attorney Diefender at the city council meeting this morning declared that the city commission has no authority to refund any of the money when the war-prohibition measure of Congress takes effect July 1.
John Findahl has filed a claim seeking more than $400 from the city for damages alleged to have been sustained through the landslide that disconnected the big water main some months ago.
