T.T. Tynan, proprietor of the Tynan Furniture company in Sheridan, said the train on which he returned last night from a trip on the Pacific Coast, traveled for miles through the burning forests of Montana. He said heavy clouds of smoke made it impossible to see more than a short distance, and at times the flames could be seen.
Little Mabel Helen Best, who was 7 years old yesterday, celebrated the event with a birthday party to which nine little guests were invited. The children spent the afternoon with games and music.
Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Morfing and family have returned to Sheridan after spending the summer visiting friends and relatives in Philadelphia, Pa.
