Heads of the local miners’ unions in the Sheridan field received official notice by telegraph today that the strike is at an end.

The coal situation in Sheridan has materially improved during the last 24 hours, according to a statement from H. A. Loucks, fuel administrator. The country mines have largely increased their production, and many people owning teams have responded to the urgent need for coal.

The Salvation Army will supply Christmas dinners to 30 families in Sheridan. The baskets will be distributed the day before Christmas.

Miss Harriet McCoy, who teaches second grade at Central School, is confined to her home because of illness.
