Sheriff U. A. C. Thomas has gone to Redding, Calif., to bring a former Sheridan county resident back here to stand trial on a charge of issuing worthless checks.
James Calkins, the 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Calkins, who live at the corner of Sheridan avenue and Works street, suffered a painful accident this morning while coasting on the steep hill in the rear of the Linden school.
Hagen White has returned from Amarillo, Texas, where he went with a shipment of 2,000 cattle.
