Spanish Influenza, Nov.21, 1918

Six new cases of influenza were reported by Sheridan County Health Officer Dr. Hurd for the 24 hours that ended at noon today, Nov. 21. No deaths from the malady were reported in the city, but three were reported in the county.
A special meeting of the city council has been set for 3 o’clock this afternoon to discuss the resolution recently adopted by the Red Cross executive committee. The resolution asks that the saloons, theaters, pool halls and other meeting places in Sheridan be closed again because of the prevalence of influenza.
John T. Hawkes, principal of the Buffalo high school, is in Sheridan for the next few days. He states that Buffalo schools will not reopen until after Dec. 1 at the earliest.
