Spanish Influenza, Dec. 30, 1918

Sheridan’s city council adopted the annual appropriation today, Dec. 30, but did not include a provision proposed by E. E. Lonabaugh for converting the big house on Grinnell, being used as an emergency hospital, into a city and county hospital.While in most of Wyoming, the influenza situation is showing improvement, in three parts of the state, the situation has grown distinctly worse. Reports to the state board of health show that there have been 2,000 cases in Big Horn county during the past six weeks. About 100 new cases are appearing each week in the Jackson Hole country, and about 200 cases are reported at Superior.Harry R. Gross died this morning at his home on Slater creek, about 8 miles from Sheridan, due to influenza complications.
