Convicted Sex Offender Sentenced in District Court
A change of plea hearing and subsequent sentencing for 29-year-old Brannon Aune of Cody was held in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan Tuesday. Aune, at Tuesday’s hearing, pleaded “no contest” to the charge of First Degree Sexual Abuse of a Minor and admitted to violating the terms of his probation from a 2018 conviction in Sheridan County of Third Degree Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached with the State and sentenced Aune to not less than 25 and not more than 30 years in prison for the First Degree Sexual Abuse of a Minor charge and 10 to 15 year in prison for the probation revocation. Both of the sentences will run concurrent to the sentence he recently received in Park County, where in March he was sentenced to not less than 25 and not more than 30 years in prison for the charge of First Degree Sexual Abuse of a Minor. Aune was also ordered to pay $325 in various court costs and fees.
