Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Luke Senden, in his report to the hospital board of trustees Wednesday evening, said he is monitoring the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic and possible vaccine mandates that may affect the facility.
He said vaccine mandates and the possible repercussions on staff are a concern.
Senden said those positions are traditionally high-turnover positions anyway, but it could be potentially more difficult to keep those positions filled if a vaccine mandate comes down, which would impact the care the facility can provide the community.
According to discussions, only 60% of staff are vaccinated for COVID-19 as of the meeting.
