The Lake DeSmet Advisory Board, at their meeting Wednesday, brought their draft Shoreline Maintenance Agreement for discussion and review,
The agreement is expected to outline what landowners at the lake can and cannot do on their property adjacent to lands owned by the county at the lake.
Questions have been brought up by landowners concerning maintenance including weeding, sod installation, tree removal and other such maintenance and how that might affect county-owned lands below the high-water mark of 4,620 feet in elevation.
Civil Deputy County Attorney Barry Crago, who put together the draft maintenance agreement, explained what the intent is with the document.
After discussions, the board decided to table the issue to allow the board members to review the regulations and readdress them at their next meeting.
