The pharmaceutical company Moderna stated Monday, Dec. 20, that the company’s booster for COVID-19 increases the protection of people against the omicron variant.

In a media release, the company stated lab tests have shown that a half-dose of the booster elevated the omicron fighting antibodies of the test patients by 37 times. Initial tests also showed that a full-dose of the vaccine increased those antibodies by 83 times but symptoms seven days after receiving a full-dose booster were generally comparable to those seen after the two-dose primary series.

The company’s findings have yet to undergo scientific review.
