The Johnson County Youth Camp had a busy year in 2021, and based on early registrations, much the same is expected in 2022.

Ashlea Bassett, now with Johnson County Road & Bridge, reported to the commission that there were 28 nights reserved in 2021 , compared to 23 in 2020.

She said there are already 29 nights reserved for 2022.

Revenue produced by the camp was $1,350 in deposits which all but $300 was returned; and there was $2,000 in user fees over the summer, down slightly from 2020 which she attributed to consistent rates charged in 2021.

Bassett said there is some maintenance that needs to be done at the camp including weighting a gazebo to keep it from blowing away in the wind; staining the building; and other general maintenance before it gets used again next summer.
