Johnson County Commissioner Bill Novotny recently appeared on our talk show Public Pulse, and discussed litigation and legal expenses the county is dealing with.
Novotny said during their most recent meeting, the commission had an executive session where litigation was discussed.
Although he couldn’t go into detail, he did say what it was about.
Novotnysaid the case is with US Realm, which owes the county more than $20 million in unpaid mineral taxes.
He also discussed legal fees that are not only borne by the county, but the special districts as well.
