State Senator Dave Kinskey told the Buffalo City Council in a recent meeting that the legislature is keeping an eye on two specific projects at the Veterans Home of Wyoming, one near completion and the other in the early stages of development.
Kinskey said once the Veterans Skilled Nursing Facility is complete, the focus will then be on the domiciliary at the Veterans Home.
Kinskey added that after the state money is set aside, then comes applying for federal funding which includes all the steps necessary to go through the federal government for the project.
The estimate the legislature received from the military department was five to seven years before the project would reach “shovel in the ground” status, he said.
Kinskey said the state would be looking at doing everything they can to try to accelerate the process.
