A Sheridan woman was sentenced for two felony drug possession charges Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court. At a change of plea hearing in December, Toni Olelson, pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance – marijauna. Both of the charges were prosecuted as felonies because Oleson has three prior convictions of drug possession.
District Court Judge William Edelman at Thursday’s hearing, accepted the plea agreement and sentenced Oleson to 2 to 4 years in prison for each charge, suspended in lieu of three years of supervised probation. The sentences and probation will run concurrent to one another. Oleson was also ordered to pay $915 in various court costs and $500 in attorney fees.
