Probation Revocation Hearing Held for Sheridan Woman Convicted of Numerous Felonies
A petition to revoke probation for Rachael Rodriguez was recently filed in District Court by Sheridan County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Christopher LaRosa. Rodriguez is currently serving a 60-day jail sentence in the Sheridan County Detention Center for a methamphetamine possession charge she pleaded guilty to in Circuit Court. At an initial probation revocation hearing in District Court, Rodriguez denied she violated terms of her probation and requested the Court appoint a public defender to handle her case. District Court Judge William Edelman granted the defendant’s request and said an attorney would be appointed to her case and a hearing to settle the matter would be scheduled after Rodriguez has had a chance to consult with her attorney.
Rodriguez is on probation for a number of felonies she was convicted of in 2020. She was sentenced in November of 2020 to 2 ½ to 4 years in prison for the charges of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and attempted burglary. For the charge of delivery of a controlled substance- methamphetamine, Rodriguez was sentenced to 2 ½ to 5 years in prison. The sentences were suspended in lieu of a seven month split-sentence and three years of supervised probation.
