U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) on Thursday condemned the invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces. Lummis issued a release stating that Russians unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is wholly unacceptable, and Vladimir Putin and his cronies must pay for the loss of life and harm he is inflicting on the Ukrainian people. Lummis said that she’s proud to support the nuclear mission of FE Warren Air Force Base and have long opposed the New START Treaty with Russia that surrendered the country’s nuclear advantage by focusing the U.S. to disarm while allowing Putin to gain ground and she hopes we learn from this gross strategic error in the future.
Lummis is working with her colleagues in the Senate and with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to impose sanctions relating to the action of Russian forces, and to counter the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and other Eastern European Allies.
