Give them room so they can get you there

March is a month of snow in northern Wyoming. Winter driving involves risk; cold dangerous conditions and the possibility of low visibility in a storm are a reality most residents of the Cowboy State know and understand. Employees of the Wyoming Department of Transportation wake up early and work to ensure the routes are open and clear to mitigate that risk. 

According to WYDOT, snow plows are huge machines, capable of moving tons of snow every minute. Operators of these snow plows are highly trained professionals.

Snow plow professionals need cooperation from motorists so they can properly perform their duties and keep the road safe for drivers.

WYDOT District 4 Senior Public Relations Specialist Laura Dalles told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program motorists can help their local plow operators by simply giving them room to operate.

Snow plow drivers cannot see vehicles behind them if the vehicles are too close to the plows. In some cases, vehicles have come into contact with plows while attempting to pass or by following too closely.
