County Approves Amended Lake DeSmet Shoreline Regs

Johnson County’s Commissioners, during their Tuesday meeting, voted to approve the amended shoreline regulations for Lake DeSmet.

The Lake DeSmet Advisory Board has been working on the revisions over the last couple of years, and the commissioners have been reviewing the final draft of the amendments in preparation for adopting them.

A public hearing was held on the regulation revisions, but no public comment was offered at the meeting or electronically.

Also approved by the commission was the appointment of Jim Fennema to the Lake DeSmet Advisory Board, representing downstream irrigators.
