The Johnson County Healthcare Center has seen some new faces recently, and will continue to see new faces in the coming weeks and months, according to information provided during the recent hospital board meeting.

Chief Executive Officer Luke Senden told the board that Dr. Erica Rinker had taken a position in Sheridan and will no longer be working at the healthcare center.

Senden said the position in the Emergency Room has drawninterest and he has extended an offer to a provider that is still considering the offer.

There is also interest in the clinic from a resident that may be taking the position in the coming months.

Senden said the resident will be in Buffalo in July and they hope to get a contract in place at that time.

There has been some interest from PRNs to help with acute care.

According to indeed.com, PRN is a Latin phrase that stands for “pro re nata,” which translates to “as the need arises.”

PRN refers to nurses who do not work on a set schedule and instead work for hospitals whenever they are needed, primarily filling staffing shortages.
