Tidbits to continue this summer at the Museum at the Bighorns

June 15, 2022

The free Tidbit Activity Series at the Museum at the Bighorns will continue this summer with new programs.

Through two new partnerships with local organizations, The Museum at the Bighorns is bringing new topics to children attending Tidbit. According to the museum, since the early 2000s, more than 20,000 students have explored local history and culture through the hands-on series.

Tidbit will take place at the museum beginning at 10 a.m. on the following Tuesdays, each with a different theme:

June 21, will be Outdoor Ethics with the U.S. Forest Service. Kids can learn the dos and don’ts of exploring the great outdoors.

On July 5, the program Pioneer Trails will teach children how the Bozeman Trail and other pioneer trails carried people west to new lives in new parts of the country. Children will explore why people decided to move west and learn about their journey.

July 19, will feature Succulents with Landon’s Greenhouse. Kids can learn about these hearty little plants from people who know them best, the employees of Landon’s Greenhouse.

Tibits on Aug. 1, will be all about Ice Cream. The traditional end of the summer Tidbit is back as kids will learn how to make ice cream at home without needing a machine.

Tidbit programs will be on the museum’s porch weather permitting. Advanced registration is encouraged because space is limited to 40 children for each activity. Parents or guardians are asked to remain with their children during each program. Parents and guardians can sign up and learn more on the museum’s website by clicking here, or by calling the museum at 307-675-1150. The Museum at the Bighorns is located at 850 Sibley Circle in Sheridan.
