A statewide 24-hour online fundraising event called WyoGives, is designed to bring the state together as one community in fellowship to raise money and awareness for Wyoming’s nonprofits.
The platform can be found at WyoGives.org on July 13. For only 24-hours, donations can be made to many of Wyoming’s nonprofits. Many of those nonprofits have partnered with other donors that will provide matches – up to a certain amount – for every dollar donated.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Executive Director of the Food Group in Sheridan, Keri McMeans told listeners how their donations help to feed children right here in their hometown.

The Food Group provides a bag of nutritious food for kids to take home each weekend during the academic year, providing breakfast options and balanced dinners. The group has also partnered with the YMCA to ensure that children have nutritious food available outside of the school year. Beginning in mid-June of this year, the Y and the Food Group arrive at the North Heights Park every Wednesday evening at 4:30 p.m. For an hour, kids take part in games and camp style activities. All children are welcome.
The Food Group requires no proof of need and only the kids and school personnel know who is receiving food, eliminating the stigma. Find The Food Group on the donation platform during WyoGives on July 13.
