Last week for the Dog and Cat Shelter Independence Month Sale

July 26, 2022

The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter serves as a temporary home for many Sheridan furry residents. Not all of those animals are of the canine or feline variety.

The shelter has served as home for pigs, chickens, roosters, fish, ducks and many other smaller and scaly types of pets.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program,  Shelter Executive Director AJ Evans told listeners that adoptions have been surprisingly low this summer season.

Evans also informed listeners that this is the last week of the Independence Month Sale, where people can adopt animals for 50% of the usual cost.

The regular price for the adoption of an adult dog is $100, puppies – $200, small dogs under 20 pounds – $150 and senior dogs – $65.

Regular price for cat adoptions, adults – $60, kittens – $100, senior cats – $20.

These fees help to pay for the care and maintenance of the shelter animals. Each adopted animal has already received a spay or neuter, vaccinations, a veterinary exam, basic behavior assessments and have been microchipped.
