Sheridan County Airport Manager John Stopka brought a revised grant application before the county commission, asking for their approval and the signature of the chairman to apply for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding through the Federal Aviation Administration.
He explained that the airport had about $2,600 from last year’s parking lot improvement project, and the FAA wants to kick that money into the new grant application for the terminal improvement project, which changed the overall numbers from the application approved earlier this year.
Stopka said the $2,600 in AIP funding carryover means the bottom line increased on the terminal improvement project, which then means the state must kick in an additional $125 and the airport must kick in an additional $30 on the $2.3 million grant.
He said once the FAA receives the revised application with signatures, the grant funding will be distributed and work will begin on the terminal project.
The commissioners approved the revised grant application.
