A trial date has been set for early 2023 for a Sheridan man charged with three counts of felony drug possession. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
District Court Arraignments
At an arraignment hearing Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan, 39-year-old Jedediah Franks pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, and one count of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The charges are being prosecuted as felonies because Franks has three prior convictions for drug possession on his record. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a jury trial for January 30, 2023, and set the pretrial conference for January 5 at 10 am. Each count of felony drug possession is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
Also from District Court Tuesday, 20-year-old Sadie Koltiska pleaded not guilty to the charge of felony possession of a controlled substance – marijuana. The crime is being prosecuted as a felony because Koltiska was in possession of an amount marijuana greater than three ounces. Judge Phillips set a one-day #2 stack jury trial for January,30, 2023, and set a pretrial conference for January 5 at 9:30 am. The felony possession charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
