Sheridan County Awards Contract for Fire Mitigation Consulting

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have awarded a contract for fire mitigation consulting services to Sustainable Forestry Consulting, LLC of Buffalo.

The agreement specifies Sustainable Forestry Consulting will develop fuels mitigation work in conjunction with landowners in Sheridan County, administer payments to landowners from the grant funding, and provide quarterly reports to the county’s administrative director, Renee Obermueller.

She gave more details on the agreement during the recent county commission meeting.

The agreement referenced by Obermueller is with the State Lands and Investments Forestry Division for funding on the USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region 2022 Western States Wildland Urban Interface Grant for fire fuels mitigation on private properties.
