WANTED: Sheridan storytellers

October 6, 2022

WYO Play and the WYO Theater will join with organizations and groups in 40 different states and countries for an evening of storytelling on Saturday, Nov. 19.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, WYO Theater Executive Director Erin Butler told listeners the event was brought to their attention by one of the theater’s patrons.

A worldwide event, TELLABRATION! will bring together people from all walks of life and cultures in a mixture of personal, historical, folk and fairy tales, tall tales, myths and legends and cultural stories in order to highlight the storytellers special talents and styles.

WYO PLAY is searching for local Sheridan storytellers to join the lineup for this inaugural event.

Storytellers will need to prepare a story – with an approximate 10-minute time limit – in a style of their choosing as well as attend an initial gathering to meet other storytellers and producers near the end of October. A second meeting will be held in November at which time storytellers will share their stories with each other.

Potential storytellers must also be available for rehearsal and presentation of TELLABRATION on evenings of Nov. 18 and 19, at the WYO Theater.
