The Johnson County Cemetery District Board, at their Tuesday meeting, announced the resignation of board member and Treasurer John Ehlers.
Ehlers gave a written resignation to the board that they voted to accept.
The board then voted to appoint Vice-President John Zorbas as treasurer, making a vacancy in the VP position.
The board then voted to appoint the newest board member Dave Moate as vice-president.
Moate was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Craig Wetterlund, who resigned this summer, that is up this year.
After the votes, the board then discussed filling Ehlers seat on the board, which doesn’t expire for two years.
The board voted to appoint Moate to the 2-year term and leave his previous seat open until after the November general election.
